The Things Your Baby Doesn’t Need
When buying baby gear it is so fun and it is easy to be sucked in by advertisers. Everybody wants their baby to have the best, safest, and cutest items. But the truth is that babies do not need a whole lot, and there are lots of things that your baby doesn’t need.
Fancy crib sets need to be avoided because they are not safe. It is advised to remove all pillows, bumper pads, comforters, stuffed toys, and anything that is soft from the baby’s crib. It is a fun pastime to decorate the nursery but make sure that there are no unneeded things in your baby’s crib.
When you are buying clothes for baby be sure that it will be comfortable. Remember that there are many high priced uncomfortable baby clothes. Any baby is more comfortable in loose fitting clothing without any elastics. Wear only cotton on your baby because it is soft to the touch unlike any synthetic material that you can find.
Avoid buying a changing table or a wipes warmer. When I changed my children when they were babies I found it a lot easier to do it on the floor with them laying on a blanket. It is also safer for when the baby starts to roll. The wipe warmer can dry out the wipes and you need to change the baby where it is.
It has been stated by physical therapists and by paediatricians to avoid the use of a baby walker. You will feel that it is good for your baby but the use of a walker will stop the natural development of your baby and they are also connected to many injuries every year.
Special baby laundry soap is not needed. It’s just the smell that is different from your other laundry soap. If you baby happens to have a reaction to laundry soap try using less or using only hot water.
