Hear Me is pleasant and well performed, and understandably became a hit in its native territory of Taiwan! Because this movie got a wonderful expressiveness, as they use body language as often as hand signs to convey their thoughts. This is a touching and funny movie!       First Deaf Umrah


      The Umrah is a lesser form of pilgrimage to Mecca Saudi Arabia. It is a voluntary act of worship, that is encouraged to be completed by Muslims. Unlike Hajj which is the major pilgrimage that must be completed on certain dates and time, umrah can be undertaken at any time of the year. Al- Isharah an Islamic charity, working towards making Islam more accessible to deaf Muslims. As part of their work, they took the commitment to take a group of deaf Muslims to Umrah, with all the necessary deaf language support. The British Sign Language interpreters that traveled with the group had to be Muslim and have the additional training in Islamic sign language. Currently there is only one male Muslim interpreter in the UK, and only a handful of Muslim female interpreters.
